Hi,

I understand your concerns and I will explain what needs to be done. Usually, for a liver to properly heal itself, and enzymes to get back to normal needs around 30 days to 60 days or even more without alcohol.

Twelve days without alcohol, probably will not help to lower ALT/AST enzymes at normal range. Here are some advice to help your liver heal, your liver enzymes get back at normal.

- Eat fresh fruits and vegetables-have plenty of water

- Normal exercise like yoga, or walking to the park 3 or 4 times per week

- Have a low fat diet and alcohol free.

But since you drink, then a cup of red wine is the best option. Red wine has a lot of antioxidants that can keep your heart at shape. Just try to not abuse since you had Barrettes esophagus.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any other question, feel free to ask me.

Regards,
Dr. Endri Katro
