Hi,
The treatment of
motion sickness may be by
home remedies in some cases like low fatty diet, ginger chewing, ice sucking, avoiding rocking or spinning activities, avoiding back seat in vehicles, looking towards horizon etc. These may work in some patients with varying degree of effectiveness.
If the home remedies do not work then medicines like Benadryl or Dramamine or patches of
scopolamine etc. are tried. If these also do not work, then detailed investigations for finding the cause are advised and treatment done accordingly.
As motion sickness is caused by a conflict between visually perceived movements and the movements perceived by
vestibular system, hence it is a complex process, which needs a thorough diagnosis. The use of ear tube, perhaps will not solve your problem. This is used to drain any fluid etc. from the middle ear due to infections or inflammations etc., where as the vestibular system (Balancing system of body) is situated in
inner ear.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
