Hello, I am a chronic pain patient as a result of a terrible accident and dr's missed my pelvic fractures for alomost 2 months and they didnt heal totally right, had no insurance, couldnt do 100,000$ surgury, anyway, I am on a number of medications but for pain I am on oxymorphone for ER, and oxycodone IR, fro breakthrough. I was on 80mg Oxycontins, Methadone, and IR morphine origionally and mby my own action got myself off the methadone and have been continually reducing my medication doseage. My question is i have tried most of the pain meds on the market, I have been able to get to old (generic) oxymorphone since the plastic opanas did practically nothing, but I have not tried the fentanyl patch and think it would really help, but I have a lot of concerns about how highly addictive fentanyl is. Do you think I would be able to reduce my breakthrough dose with a more consistent medication like a fentanyl patch vs. ER oxymorphone? I have an appointment in a few days, but I just wanted to hear another optinion
