Suggest Ways To Manage Side Effects Of Symbicort Inhaler
I recently was diagnosed with copd. I have bouts of bronchitis but all in all my daily life is not slowed down at this point with other symptoms of this disease. My NP suggested I begin Symbicort but I am reluctant to do so as there are negative side effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am an active 72 year old female
If you are reluctant only because you have heard there are side effects, but haven't tried it yet, I would encourage you to try it. I say that because a vast majority of patients do not have any side effects, and if there are any, they are usually minor. This is because the medication is inhaled, so little is actually absorbed into your system, which limits its effects on the body outside of the lungs.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any questions about any of that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
