Sir i am very much addicted to chweing gutkha and khaini.even i use khaini while sleep.now i deadly want to quit this habit.in one day i chew 20 to 25 gutkha and 5 to 6 time khaini. Pls suggest me medicines .anti nicotinegms or any other. Thanx in advance.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Chewing tobacco in any form like gutka is very bad for health as it has been associated with increased risk for getting oral cancers. What quantity you are using now is in dangerous limits and it is good that you have made up your mind to quit the habit. You can try using nicotine patch which is available, and gradually taper it and stop it completely. Also, it would be better you undergo psychotherapy simultaneously by attending counselling sessions, which would help to think in positive direction. Along with it, practice meditation and mild to moderate exercise regularly to keep your body and mind fit. You can consult de-addiction centre or Psychiatrist for proper management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
