Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 24 years old, 5'5, 111 lbs, and I'm allergic to nothing. I have been small my whole life the only time I weighed over a 100lbs was when I was pregnant and now I am back to my small size. I was losing weight again and looked like i was going to drop back down under 100lbs so I asked my doctor for help and he prescribed me some pills to help put on pounds, I was 108 and now about 3-4 weeks later weighed 111. My question is is there any other way i could put on pounds?? I would like to reach a certain weight and to be a little bigger (thicker if you will).
To gain weight you would need to increase your caloric intake and decrease your energy output.
This means that you would have to increase the calories that you obtain from food and drink and decrease activities that would burn off too much calories.
In terms of food intake: (1)increase portion sizes and frequency of meals (2)increase the caloric value of meals by the addition of dressings/peanut butter/oils
Activity: strength training may help, reduce fidgeting and aerobic exercise
I hope this helps
