Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 29ys old - 1.42m and I feel my health is well. But my blood check show that ESR 49mm/hr and 83mm/2hrs. I already take another check (ENT)... every is fine. Could you advise, how can I reduce ESR due to I must have anyting is nomal so I can get a job offer.
Hello and welcome to HCM, ESR is a non-specific parameter and it increases in large number of inflammatory conditions. Thus, a complete evaluation will be required to find out the cause of elevated ESR. Common inflammatory conditions are tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, giant cell arteritis, post surgery, infections, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. The level of ESR comes back to normal after the underlying condition responsible for its elevation is treated. Thus, i suggest you to consult your physician for complete assessment to detect the cause of elevated ESR.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
