Hi, I am havibg issues with my blood sugar. I haven t been to a Dr to be diagnosed but yesterday my sugar was 374, then about 4 hours later it dropped to 266, this morning I checked it and it was 360. I am no medicine nor have I been treated for diabetes. Is it ok to wait til monday to go to the dr, or are my levels way too high to ignore for the weekend?

Hi,

You can have diabetes so should investigate properly like fasting blood sugar, two hours after taking food and HbA1C that will show your three months blood sugar average, only then take medicine. Till then, you should reduce sweet items, potato and rice in your diet.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rakesh Bhatty, General & Family Physician
