Suggest Ways To Rule Out Rabies

Hi. I was bitten by a dog. The bite was a very small, shallow puncture. Is it possible that i have rabies even if the wound is very small? This happened almost 2 week ago. Now, i have sore throat which i read is an early symptom of rabies. What will i do?

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Rabies is very fatal disease and symptoms occur 1-3 months after the bite.
Diagnosis typically depend on the symptoms.
Rabies cause inflammation of the brain and/or meninges, slight or partial paralysis, anxiety, insomnia, confusion, agitation, abnormal behavior, paranoia, terror, and hallucinations, hydrophobia.
Sore throat could be due to viral infection.

But you have need rabies vaccine. Take full dose of the rabies vaccine: 0,3,7,14,28 days, intramuscular on the deltoid muscle.

For dose throat take the advice of the primary care physician
Throat swab, CBC, throat examination will help int he diagnosis.
Doctor will give
Azithromycine for 3 days
Tablet ibuprofen
Gargle of betadine 2-3 times per day
Take strepsil lozenges
Drink plenty of lukewarm water
Steam inhalation
Hope this may help you
