Suggest Ways To Wean Off Cymbalta

I am simply looking for a suggested guide to weaning myself off Cymbalta after taking it for many years. I will be discussing it with my personal physician this afternoon. I was trying to find just some basic information so that she and I could discuss it together. She is an Internist. I was even looking for the Manufacturer s recommendations but could not find anything. The FDA has archived the information. ??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for asking a question at HCM

I will be glad to answer it for you

You should reduce the dose by 1/4th for every 2 weeks, and then stop it.

To be more clear, if you are taking 1 tablet now, take 3/4th for 2 weeks, then 1/2 for 2 weeks. then, 1/4 th for 2 weeks, then stop. This way you will not get withdrawl symptoms.

Hope this helps

Best Regards

Dr Chaithanya
