Hello,
Oxycodone is a semisynthetic opiod drug made from morphine.
A sudden withdrawal of oxycodone is not adviced.
i , generally advice my patients to replace it with an opiod like 10-25mg of
methadone two times daily on day 1 to decrease the symptoms of withdrawal (nausea, diarrhoea, coughing, lacrimation, piloerection, twiching of muscles)
Then gradually decrease the dose by 10-20% of the original day s dose each dose. However, since it is a prescription drug, i would ask you to consult a physician physically.
But pharmacological treatment is the mainstay for treating
withdrawal symptoms.
Loperamide can be used for diarrhoea, for "sniffles" decongestants are helpful, and for pain Ibuprofen is advisable.
Clonidine can be used for comfort enhancement at a dose of 0.3mg 2-4 times a day at the advice of your attendine physician.
Get regular BP monitored.
If you have problem with your sleep and remain agitated, you can take alprazolam for 2-5days.
Hope this help,
Regards,
