Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am an 83 year old man who has been on phenytoin for about 38 years for absent seizures after I fell and struck my head. 4 100mg one day and 5 the next. Three different doctors in the last year suggested that I get ngoff the med. I have decided to try to reduce my dosage slowly over the next six weeks while being monitored by my wife and not driving, and keeping my family doctor up to date. What do you think of this plan? Am very healthy for my age with weight, blood work and other items excellent.
