Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 74 year old female and have been taking premarin .625 mg for 25+ years. I have tried to get off of it several times, taking it every other day, etc. However, always return due to the hot flashes, night sweats and emotional upsets. Is it OK to just continue? YYYY@YYYY
From your description, I am of the opinion that You should wean off from premarin as it is non-essential for you at this age. Taper off by reducing dosage and having it alternate days and then gradually wean off over a period.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
