Suggestions For Redness On Edge Of Eye After Injury?
Hi, I have pink eye in both eyes and yesterday, I accidentally got hit in one of the eyes with a sharp piece of ice. I felt a little bit of pain right after but I didn't see any damage done to the eye. A few hours later I noticed a red "blob" on the edge of that eye right in the place where I got hit. I got eye drops with antibiotics in them yesterday before getting hit with the piece of ice. I'm not sure if I should keep using the eye drops with the red blob still being there, or if I should go visit the doctor again. Do you have any suggestions?
Hello It seems from the history that you had a injury to the eyes following which you are having redness and raised bleb like appearance on the edge of the eye, the site of injury. This can be because of subconjunctival hemorrhage. This is because of collection of blood under the conjunctiva as a result of injury. It is self limiting condition and resolves by 3-4 weeks and treatment is usually not required. However you do require examination of eyes by your doctor for confirmation of diagnosisand to rule out any other eye injuries and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
