Hi, the swelling on the neck may be due to an enlarged lymph node caused by T.B. The gland can be biopsied and tb can be confirmed. And appropriate anti tb medicine can be started. TB treatment is a little prolonged, but its completely curable. Dont worry.Meanwhile he should take a high protein diet.

if tb is confirmed by investigations anti tb drugs should be started
as the swelling is on the back of neck the cervical spine to be x-rayed and if involved orthopaedic surgeon should be consulted and the condition to be treated as the surgeon decides
