Sweating, Shivering, Swelling In Arms, Ankle Pain After Stopping Smoking. Withdrawal Symptoms? Should I Meet A Doctor?

My husband Smoked 2 packs a day, hes 53. He quite smoking Wednesday afternoon. Last night he was sweating profusly, and shivers all night, his arm swelled up and his ankle hurts and he can hardly walk. Is this from the nicotine withdrawls or is this something he should go to the doctors office this am . Hes very stubbard. Thank you for your time

it does look like a withdrawal symptoms of nicotine..i suggest you give him anxit for 1-2 days he would have relief of anxiety symptoms...if condition does not improve then I suggest you consult him to a psychiatrist for good counselling and to exclude other organic causes for such complaints..he is on a right tract in quiting smoking..take care
