Sweet Smell In Air ,normal Health

Occasionally I have a few hours to a day or so when I smell sweetness in the air no matter where I am. I don t believe it is on my breath . I have regular health check ups showing normal liver , kidney , etc functions. What might cause these fantom smells? Should I be concerned?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
You are having parosmia where your olfactory sensations are altered. This commonly happens due to chronic cold, allergic rhinitis or Vitamin B12 deficiency.
You can take steam inhalation and Vitamin B complex supplements for 2 weeks and see if your symptoms improve. In case the problm is persistent, getting an ENT evaluation done will be helpful.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
