Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have swelling and puffiness around both eyes. It is both above and under the lids and below the eyes above the cheek bone. Left eye is slightly worse than right. I woke up with it this morning and it subsided during the day but now is getting worse again. I have not experienced this before. It is significant enough that I decided not to drive.
I treated with visine and ice packs but no significant change.
Hi, This could be an allergic reaction to something you have come into contact with at home. It may be in the air or could be a different washing powder, soap or other substance that has come into contact with your skin. You may want to try an antihistamine. Regards, Dr K A Pottinger MBChB FRCA

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hi,
For normal puffy eyes that are not caused by other eye conditions, there are many ways to get rid of the problem.
•Wash face with ice cold water
•Limit sodium intake
•Drink plenty of water to clean out your system
•Place two slices of cool cucumber on the eyes for several minutes
•Moisten two tea bags in cold water, chill them in the refrigerator and place them over closed eyelids for several minutes
•For allergies and puffy eyes, find out the item causing the allergic reaction and minimize its use.
Regards.
