Hi,

I recieved 2 small stitches 2 days ago. I was late getting on antibiotics started those sunday. There is redness in a circle around the wound. There is not much swelling but it is warm to the touch. I am still taking the antibiotics is this something I should be worried about or will go away once the antibiotics kick in.

Thanks

Hi!
Thanks for the query.

You need not to worry regarding swelling and redness around the stitches.
It will subside once the effect of antibiotics starts.

It is usual to get such swelling around stitches during initial days of injury.

Along with the antibiotics continue with some anti-inflammatory drugs like diclofenac and serratiopeptidase. It will help for rapid healing.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you.
