Swelling In Left Foot, Tingling. Working On Cement Floor. Treatment?

My left foot has been swelling for the last week - both feet feel numb and tingly, but I attribute that to working on a daily basis for 4 years on a cement floor in a children's museum - finally quit because of it. But it's been just the last week or so that the left foot has been swelling...increasing as the day progresses.

Radiologist, Interventional 's  Response
Hello Connie,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

This swelling can be from a venous insufficiency that causes pooling of blood in your leg and thus the swelling.

You need to see a doctor, preferably a Vascular Interventional Radiologist like myself and have an Ultrasound of your leg veins done to look for any varicose veins or other causes.

An infection / injury can also cause such a swelling.

Lying down with your feet raised, avoiding standing for long periods of time would also help reduce this swelling.
