From your question, what I can perceive is that you are having a swelling inside the throat.Is this swelling situated on the side of your throat-behind the tongue?



If yes-then it is most probably a tonsill ,that you are concerned with.



Tonsill(palatine tonsill) are basically set of lymphoid tissue on both side of inside of throat.They normally act upon the germs in our food and prevent them to get into our system.



The outer surface of a tonsill is not smooth,it has few crypts/holes in it ,food particles get clogged in these holes sometimes.



Also, in case of infection,there might be pus discharging from these crypts.



If that is the case,you need good antibiotics,warm saline gargle and plenty of fluid intake.



If still it dosen't resolve, you need to further investigations to be done

Thanks for posting your query.
You are most likely suffering form Acute bacterial tonsillitis.
Presence of enlarged left sided tonsils along with pus pint suggests the diagnosis.
Circumvallate papillae are very close to adenoids (a collection of lymphoid tissue on the back of tongue) and enlarged during any sort of infection.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ ENT surgeon and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for throat swab culture & sensitivity.
You should take complete antibiotic course and analgesics.
You should also perform gargles with lukewarm water along with a pinch of salt.
Avoid sour, curd, cold drinks and oily food.
