Swelling In The Left Side Of Neck Behind Collarbone. Had Swollen Lymph Nodes Previously. What Could It Be?

I have swelling near the left side of my neck sort of behind my collarbone.

Possible initiator, around a month or two before any symptoms began I had been

bitten by three ticks.

It began with stiffness on the left side of my neck, this went on for over two

weeks before the swelling near the left side of my neck began.

I felt like I had a fever but a few times I took my temperature it was slightly

lower than normal. I also was a bit nauseous and at times a little dizzy. At it's

worst I was sleeping for between 16 to 18 hrs. a day feeling really run down.

I had a sore inside my cheek just before starting the first course of antibiotics

I'm not sure if it was a direct result of what ever this is or from breathing

through my mouth while I was stuffed up, which may have been partially from

allergies.

By the time we tried using Z pak my lymph nodes under my left arm, behind my left

knee and also the balls of my feet were swollen.

Initial response to the first Zpak was fairly good, all my lymph nodes went down to

normal. The swelling near my neck didn't really shrink. After four days I didn't

get any better and as soon as I was done taking the Zpak I started to get worse.

(I've tried Zpak for sinus infections in the past at least four times and they

never worked for that either)

I was put on Zpak again with the same result.

Next we tried Augmentin, it had an immediate effect and by day eight I was feeling

the best I had felt in over 8 weeks. I still wasn't convinced the effects were

done. The swelling near my neck was still present although it was slightly lower.

Since this time the swelling has gone down more to around 1/3 of what it was. Every

few days or so I still sleep for two hours or so in the middle of the day.

It's been over two weeks now since the Augmentin course and the low body

temperature returned today. The swelling near my neck is still lower than it was.

Also for a short the lymph node under my left arm began to swell a bit and was a

little sore. I have a slight swelling behind my left knee as well.

I've had blood work done, not certain what exactly and that didn't show anything.

I've had chest xrays and a cat scan that showed nothing. In the beginning I was

tested for Lyme and that test was negative.

Hi!
welcome to hcm!
You seem to be having generalized Lymphadenopathy which most probably is arising due to some infective condition as they responded to antibiotics.
However to be sure you can get a FNAC done from enlarged lymphnode specially left supraclavicular lymph node to rule out lymphoma or some metastasis.sometimes tumour in some other part of body is diagnosed from lymph node only.
hope this helps you!Take care!
