Swelling, Pain In Testis After Removal Of Excess Skin Folds. Ultrasound Showed Septated Cyst. What Is Its Importance?

44 years old male had ultrasound for swelling and pain of right testis fallowing operation for removal of excess skin folds.
Ultrasound of scrotum showed SEPTATED CYST within the head of right epididymis measuring 0.8 x 0.7 x 1.0 cm. He also has few simple and small cysts in other parts of scrotum. I want to know the importance of septations of cyst.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The presence of cysts are common in epididymis.
Cysts are empty spaces filled with fluid.
Septae are presence of fibrous partitions or bands in the cyst.
Cysts are usually asymptomatic and harmless in epididymis.
If they become symptomatic e.g. causing pain in the local area, the cyst needs to be removed surgically.

Thanks and take care
