Swelling, Painful Big Toe On Right Foot, Increased Pain With Walking. Any Thoughts?

Hi, I woke with a painful big toe on my right foot. Over the last couple of days it has swelled up. I haven't hurt it due to an injury, just woke up with pain. The pain is warm and is not around the toe nail. I can press my toe, squeeze it and all's good. However when I walk the pain is increased. If I wear shoes then the pain is less.
