Swelling, Redness In Foot. Moving To The Bottom Of Shin. Diagnosed As Gout. Prescribed Medicines. Suggestions?
I have swelling of the foot, original diagnosis is gout, i have been prescribed endone and panadeine forte as well as Colgout, have taken these for 2 days and the pain subsides for a half hour or so, i can't sleep and woke up vomiting, the area of the foot is red and looks like it is slowly moving to the bottom of my shin
Apart from medications (which you are already taking), the other general measures to be followed in an acute attack of Gout are -
* Foot end elevation of the affected side * Icing the joint once in 2-3 hours to alleviate the pain * Resting the involved joint (by avoiding prolonged walking or standing) * Using loose foot wear that doesn't produce too much pressure on the joint
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
