Swollen Cheek, Pushing Eye Upward. MRI Showed Tumor Mass, Waiting Fo R Biopsy Results. Chances To Be Benign?
what could it be when cheek is alot swollen, "pushing" eye upward. MRI showed tumor mass, there is no pain, two teeth were removed due to abscess and dentist had to push cheek to push alot of pus out from area. abscessed teeth were not painful either. face continues to be swollen. dr. took biopsy. i am very worried. i am praying that it could be infected cyst, etc. what are conditions and chances it is benign
You didn’t mentioned your age, sex and detailed history.
Differential diagnosis varies with age.
Biopsy can give definite diagnosis whether it is benign or malignant.
Generally malignant lesions are infiltrative in nature and have short history.
So, you have to wait for your histopathology report.
Get well soon.
you have not mentioned about the progression of your swelling if it was slow i.e. over the months the chances of it being benign are more.
you have also not mentioned about the blood and other investigation which are done to rule out tuberculosis as TB can cause painless swellings which are known as coldabscess and may mimic tumour mass on mri
dear i hope your biopsy report would come negative for malignancy
good luck
