Swollen Eye, Collection Of Pool Of Blood In A Corner Forming A Bump In The Eye Post Severe Fall. Treatment Required?
I fell three days ago and got a large bump on my forehead and little cut. The bump has went down but Now my left eye is swollen and a pool of blood has collected in the corner of my eye and formed a bump. Does this need to be drained by a doctor to go away?
You have traumatic sub conjunctival hemorrhage( localized collection of blood between the conjunctival tissue layers). This doesn't need to be drained as it wil get absorbed within 2-3wks time. If it is causing irritation ,while blinkng, use a lubricant eyedrops 4 times a day to comfort you.
If you have pain on moving the eyes with glare and defective vision, then consult an ophthalmologist at the earliest as trauma must have caused Intra ocular inflammation and hence a detailed examination.
From your description it seems that you developed a contusioninjury with dermal echymosis. Normally these swellings decrease with time. You can apply antibiotic creams to the forehead cut and take vitamin-C tablets, drink citrus juices/fruits, & serratiopeptidase tablets to help decrease the swellings. In case you feel that your vision is blurred a bit please consult an ophthalmologist near your place. Take care
