Swollen Hand, Fingers, Wrist, Painful, Weak. Taken Prednisone. What Do I Do?

for 2 1/2 weeks I have had a swollen left hand, fingers and wrist. It is painful and weak. I took a course of prednisone which seemed to help. The swelling has lessened. I am still iin pain and improvement is not apparent. Two doctors say the suspect pseudo gout. I have never had these symptoms, nor have I had gout. I am 82 and enjoy an active life including work. What do I do?

Hi,
As your one hand is affected, there might be having some vascular blockage problem in your left hand.
If there is some bone problem like gout etc, then other joints or limbs might have affected.
Consult vascular surgeon or orthopedic surgeon and get investigated.
Ok and take care.
