Swollen Lump On Groin, Pain Down The Leg, Rashes In Groin. Should I Meet A Doctor?
I have a swollen lump on my groin , where my leg meets my torso that only popped up today. It hurts to touch and is internal. It is not a pimple or anything. Also, previous to this I have had a pain down the same leg for over a week that feels like a rash or graze in my groin and leg however there are no visible rashes or redness. Should I go to the doctors and do you have any idea what this may be
Hello Mam, Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM. After reading your brief query appears that you have "swollen lymph node" of the groin area or it can be "folliculitis" of the area. Both of these can be painful and the pain can be referred down the legs because of the compression of the nerves passing underneath it. It is very important visit a doctor who can rule out the best possibility and then can give the appropriate treatment accordingly.Kindly avoid self medications as can cause harm rather than giving some benefits. Do not pinch or pop the area as can further complicate the situation. Hope it helps. With best health wishes. Dr Sanjay Kumar Kanodia MD- Dermatology
