Swollen, Painful Lymph Node Above Clavicle After Taking Flu Shot. Normal Side Effect?
I received a flu shot on Saturday, and on Sunday when I woke up I had a swollen painful lymph node above my right clavicle. The same side the flu shot was given on. Is this a normal side affect? I know for sure the lymph node was not swollen and palpable the day before the flu shot, I'm in nursing school and we did the assessment on lymph nodes that day. I'm worried. Thanks.
Swollen painful lymph node is either due to flu or due to secondary infection caused by vaccine shot.it can be cured by using broad spectrum antibiotic twice daily and anti inflammatory agent twice daily.if still there is lymph node swelling go for biopsy or fnac of lymph node
