What Causes Swollen Lymph Node, Red Colored Tonsil And Flu Symptoms?
I have one very swollen lymph node that is on the right side of my neck. The tonsil on the right side is very red and inflamed. I've been having flu-like symptoms without a fever and tension headaches. The lymph node has been swollen for months. What could this be?
Hi,looking at your symptoms ,you are suffering from Tonsillitis and Flu might be a preceding event.
It happens that one side of tonsil is more effected than other, as nasal secretions from one of the nasal cavity pass backward more as compared to the other nasal cavity and irritate that side of tonsil.
Lymphnode swelling in the neck might be due to tonsillitis but as it has been swollen for months, you need to have pathological examination of lymphnode to find the cause(like FNAC-fine needle aspiration cytology-in which a needle is introduced in your swollen lymphnode and the tissue material is aspirated and sent for pathological examination)
For the treatment, you need to take Antibiotic(like Cefixime),Analgesics(like Ibuprofen),Antihistaminics(like Cetrizine),Antacid (like Rantac). Also Do Steam inhalation and warm saline gargles.
