Swollen Stomach. CAT Scan Shows Induration Of Subcutaneous Fat. History Of Hernia Surgery And Hematoma

I had heria repair surgery in 10/2011. I had a chronic hematoma for approx. 6 mos before another surgery was done in 4/12 and it was suppose to fix this. I had drainage tubes unitl 5/2012 and was told that I should be fine. Well my stomach has been swelling again and I just had a cat scan and it says that I have induration of subcruetious fat? What happens now?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Nothing happens. If it does not bother you, I recommend you simply live with it. If it does bother you, a dynamic ultrasound with concurrent Valsalva maneuver may reveal a new hernia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
