Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
what are some of the symptoms of gall bladder attack? I am 57 and my upper back is throbing(between shoulder blades). I am aching and chilling. I am somewhat nauseated. Could this be my gall bladder? I do have frequent heartburn, belching,etc..or could this be the flu?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about a 57 year old having throbbing between shoulder blades in upper back, aching, chilling, nauseated; wants to know whether this is gall bladder or not, also have frequent heartburn, belching etc, or can it be flu... Since you have a history of heartburn the present symptoms may be due to GERD that is gastroesophageal reflux disease. I would advise you the following in such a situation: First of all get started with a PPI , domperidone and antacids. Get an upper GI endoscopy done Ultrasonography will help for the gall bladder, liver and other structures. Once diagnosed the treatment will be guided and purposeful.
