What would be a diagnosis for a 69 y.o. presenting symptoms such as slurred speech, blurry vision, periventricular white matter changes, episodes of vertigo, a hypodensity in the cerebellum, Babinski sign on the right and absent ankle reflexes bilaterally. Unable to tandem walk and past tuberculosis resulting in lung resection.

It sounds like degenerative demyelinisating brain disease and there are many causes of it such as iscahemic brain diseases, autoimmune or parkinsons and smeitmes this is part of ageing. Unfortunately treatment is not very sucessful but she needs detailed neurologic examination and brain MRI.Then some medicines may be administered. WIsh you good health.
