Hi,

TORCH is a group of infections. If any of these infections are acquired in pregnancy (especially in the first trimester of pregnancy), they can result in congenital malformations in the baby.

Your report - a positive IgG with a negative IgM - suggests that you may have been exposed to these infections sometime in the past. It does not indicate recent infection. It is unlikely that your recent abortion was due to any of these infections.

Hope this helps.

hello
welcome to healthcare magic.
torch test is done for a group of infections which might cause abortions. Ig G positive means that you are immune and do not need to worry. Ig M signifies recent infection and since it is negative for you it means that you do not have a recent infection. however it cannot be said if you were Ig M positive while pregnant and now you are IgG positive due to seroconversion which happens once the infection is settled. you need to toher cause for your miscarriage. TORCH does not need any treatment now.
