TTC. Possibly On Early Stages Of Implantation. Can Augmentin Taken For Strep Throat?

Hi, I want to know if it's ok to take augmentin for strep throat. My husband and I are trying to conceive, just starting this month/cycle. From BBT charting, I have full evidence of ovulating about 2 days ago. If I could be possibly in early stages of implantation, will the augmentin harm the situation? I am aware that it is a class b drug.. Thank you.

Dear patient,

Indeed, it is a class B medication, meaning that there are animal studies showing no harm but no human studies available; as a rule of thumb, all medications should be held during the first 12 weeks of gestation; I would encourage you to get a specific antigen test and culture for strep to see if you really need the medication.

Yours truly,
