TVS Reveals Anteverted And Bulky Uterus, Adenomyosis, Adenomyoma Found In The Wall. Advice?
TVS reveals uterus is anteverted and bulky and globular in size. Uterus shows adenomyosis in the anterior wall. Midline endometrial echo is seen and measures 5.4 mm. A small adenomynoma seen in the anterior wall close to the endometrial cavity but not distorting it and it measures 1.14 x 0.83 cm. Both ovaries are normal in size and echotexture and seen in pouch of Douglas. Right ovary has a follicle of 16 x 11 mm with few calcification spots. No free fluid seen in the pouch of Douglas.
Hello Thanks for your query. Your report is suggestive of adenomyosis which is thickening of the wall of the uterus, the muscular portion. Adenomyoma is further localized thickening of an area. If you are symptomatic in the form of excessive and frequent bleeding and pain , then you should consider surgery. Take care.
