Taken Medication For Itching In Vagina. Have Abrasion In Labia Majora. Serious Than A Vaginal Bacteria/infection?

So i have an itch in my vagina. I went to the doctor and I got medication. My concern though is i have a little abrasion in my labia majora and i want to know if that is normal for the bacteria i was told that i have. I had a few before and it burned when i urinated. So i have another one and I am worried. Is this more serious than a simple vaginal bacteria/infection?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
You are having recurrent vaginal infection ( as it previously also occurred as you mentioned ).
Abrasions are common due to itching. scratching is the main reason , when it comes in contact with urine burning sensation is common . Urine usually act as an antiseptic agent so burning is common , need not to worry. This is not a cause of concern.
In my opinion get in vaginal swab and culture and drug sensitivity will find out the exact treatment.
So in my opinion consult a gynecologist ( 2nd opinion) and take a complete treatment.
Good luck. Dr. HET
