Taken Steroid Shots For Acute Pharyngitis. Bruising, Lumps, Soreness, Hurts To Lie On Back. Tried Heating Pads

About 3 weeks ago I was being treated for acute pharyngitis. I had two steroid shots in my butt, one on each side. At first I just had bad bruising but now I have hard lumps at both injection sites. They are very sore and it hurts to even lie on my back and watch TV. I have tried heating pads but does not help. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nancy

Hello,
You must get them examined as there is high probability of an abscess formation .The amount of pain you are telling and it has been 3 weeks till now it should have gone.
You may require antibiotics for relief of the infection and anti inflammatory like diclofenac or ibuprofen may help.
Visit a surgeon as soon as possible to get an abscess ruled it is difficult for us to comment without examining.
In doubt do reply
