Hello,
I am sorry to hear about your husband.

CSCR or central serous chorioretinitis is common among those individual who are very stressed our, very up tight and mainly with those who have Type A personality. CSCR tends to resolve on its own if left untreated. At times, when it reoccurs within a certain amount of time, it tends to cause vision loss and disturbance. At this time, avastin injections are necessary. With these injections, the swelling that took place in the retina, the wallpaper of the eye responsible for sight, resides and vision returns to almost normal. If this swelling does not resolve, laser treatment is used. Basically what tends to happen is retina is a 10 layer wall paper that has no room for extra fluid, blood or fat to store in. If the excess amount stores, then it causes damage and upon resolving, there are times when the swelling does not heal properly causing new blood vessels to grow in the place. Therefore having to use laser tx to stop teh growth of new vessels. The vision tends to resolve a little but not to the point where it was prior to having CSCR.

Thank you
