Taking Calvapen For Strep Throat. Uncontrollable Sweating, Difficulty Sleeping, Blood In Stool. Continue Medicine?
I've been given Calvapen 666mg for a strep throat.(4 days ago)They are starting to work now for my throat but the last couple of nights I have been uncontrollably sweating and unable to sleep. Also about 10 mins ago I went to the toilet and discovered blood on top of my stool.Sorry for being so graphic but it was like it had trickle out afterwards. Should I carry on taking and see GP on Monday or stop now? Also taking Ibuprofen for pain.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Restlessness (sleeplessness) , nigh sweating were due to antibiotics and strep throat. The blood from anus ( after stool) may be due to hemorrhoids or due to any disease in lower part of intestine ( as colon, rectum, anal canal). Remote chances may be due to blood dyscrasia. Physical examination is very important ,so consult your G P and he will assess the condition. Good luck Dr. HET
