Taking Cetirizine For Dermatitis And Losartan For High BP. Have Hollowness And Increased Heart Rate. Need To Worry?
Due to dermatitis, I am taking 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride every alternate day for last 4 years. If I don't take after 2-3 days my skin starts itching in the night or day time. I also take 1 tablet daily of Losartan Potassium 50 mg due to high blood pressure. Recently for past several days I am facing hollowness and heart rate at 95 bpm.
Is there any reason of worry? My age is 40 years. I don't exercise regularly and just take walk of 10-15 mins daily.
Also my eating habits are irregular. Please guide...
In the normal heart beat, a signal starts at a specific point of the heart and spreads along a specific pathway to stimulate the rest of the heart to beat.
The normal range for heart rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute. Even though the reading of 95 beats/minute may be high for you, it is still within the normal range.
If your heart rate goes above the normal range then you should consider visiting your doctor for an evaluation. Increased heart rate can be related to(1) increased signalling from the specific starting point, (2) signalling from another point of the heart (3) blockage of the normal pathway (4) the signal travels along another pathway (5) abnormal structure of the heart
If your heart rate does increase your doctor may consider an ECG which would look for any abnormal rhythm.Blood tests such as thyroid function tests and full blood count would also be done.
I hope this helps
