Taking Istamet,Cardace & Gluconorm For Partial Paralysis
Hello Dr. My Mom is prescribed with Istamet 50mg/500mg, Cardace 5 & Gluconorm G1
She is partially paralyzed long time ago (Left side) Speech is very low (not clear pronunciation). She has diabetes too. Her effort is very less towards speaking. She consumes the above mentioned 3 types of medicines daily.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Istamet and gluconorm are drugs used to treat diabetes, cardace is a drug used to control high blood pressure. If your mom had an ischemic stroke as the cause of the paralysis, low doses of aspirin daily, should be used. Physical therapy and speech therapy also are necessary.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
