Taking Loritab For Pain. Alternative Medicine For Methadone?
I have been seeing dr. Baylen Kimball in in Lafayette Louisiana . he is a pain management dr.last week he told all of his patients he is retiring in October. I was on loritabs for my pain but they were hurting me.he decided to change me over to methadone which I have been taking for three years with no problems . I did not know the drug was for heroine addicts but also for pain as well. all the pain doctors I call don't want to help me. is there another medicine that is comparable to methadone or a doctor I can see.
Hello, Methadone is a synthetic opioid. It is used mainly as analgesic and also for opioid, morphine and heroin dependency patients. Instead of Loritab, you have changed Methadone. For you indication for initiating Loitab is pain. Somehow or other unnecessarily you are accustomed for the drugs Loritab/methadone. Continue Methadone. When you want to stop that drug you have to be very careful in following the advice of the doctor how to withdraw the drug. Don't go for a tab equal to methadone when you don't have the pain. Best wishes
