Taking Prodep For Depression. How Long Can Medicine Be Taken?

hello doctor , My wife is suffering from depression past 1 year our doct adviced to take prodep20mg for 3months she felt ok and we stopped it now she seems to feel it again shall we restart it ?how long it has to be taken?is it has any effect on cholestrol as she has that vinod

in treatment of MAJOR DEPRESSION

acute phase- mostly upto 2-3 months

continuation phase- 4-6 months

maintenance phase- if history of more than 1 episode in past...

her symptoms profile like, which type of symptoms she have, duration of symptoms, other disturbance etc...



it is better to visit psychiatrist personally, who decide about diagnosis and duration of treatment. ( it is possible that many times person is not having major depression)

and prodep not affect cholesterol level significantly, so can give it without any dose adjustment.....
