Taking Protelos, Have Osteoarthritis. Is There A Long Term Injection That Has Same Effect As The Powder?

I take Protelos 2 g at night (strontium ranelate). Is there a long term (months) injection I could have which has the same effect as the powder, if so could my GP administer it? Is it covered by my Medical Card. I am 75 and have osteoarthritis for some years.
