Taking Synopa For Parkinsons Disease. Movements Slow, Dull Pain. Is It Due To Synopa Plus ?

I am 65 years old and doctors suspected that I am having parkinson disease. For the past 2 years I am taking syndopa plus 100mg ,one fourth in the morning, one fourth tablet in the afternoon, and half tablet in night. But there is no improvement in my condition. My movements became very slow, my right side is not working properly,my right pains when I stand for few minutes, or sit. I became very dull.because I cannot walk freely I am avoiding myself to here and there. Is it all due to Synopa plus. If I stop this my condition wil be still worsen? I am afraid. please advice.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

Anti-Parkinson's drugs are gradually increased, to ensure that minimal effective dose is given.

Persistence of symptoms mandates increase of Syndopa dose. You can safely increase it to half tablet thrice daily for one week; thereafter, one tablet thrice daily. If the symptoms do not improve as per your satisfaction, further increase of the dose; or, addition of additional drug would be required.

Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he agree with me and will prescribe suitable treatment in appropriate doses, as advised.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE all doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Fond regards and have a nice day
