Taking Walgreens "cough Relief ", Is It Better To Take Expectorant ?
I bot Walgreens "Cough Relief" - cough suppressant & antihistamine, but I think what I want is an expectorant to loosen and cough up phlegm. I feel coughing is a good natural response I just want to help it along and help me sleep.
Any suggestions for over the counter and am I right in my understanding that what I bought is not loosening up the phlegm, but suppressing my coughing ---- confused

Best home remedy to loosen phlegm is steam inhalation.
Go for staem inhalation for 3 times day.
Antihistaminic is necessary to subside the allergic response in the tract and helpful to reduce secretions.
You can take bronchodilator with ambroxol.
It is better to start all these medicines under guidance of your family physician after proper examination of chest(auscultation).
