Taking Citalopram And Doxycycline For Back Side Pain, Is My Pain Related To Kidney Problem?

Today I awoke with pain on the left side of my back right around where my kidneys are. I am currently taking citalopram, doxycycline, and clindamycin phosphate. The pain has lasted all day and I have never had pain here before. Do you think it could be a problem with my kidneys?

Hi thanks for your query.the pain you mentioned could be unrelated to your kidney.backache can be a part of the multiple somatic disorder.it could be related to depression as well.....it can be related to excess inntake of doxycycline.but none the less you need to rule out ANALGESIC NEPHROPATHY .I suggest you get a renal ultrasound and an mri of the spine after a trial of 7days painkillers.also get a complete urine examination.Stop clindamycin and review with your family doctor.
Thank you
