Taking Dicorate For A Long Time. Will This Medicine Have Any Side Effect As Sexual Desires?

hello doctor, my friend taking dicorate er 750 medicine for a long time. He says that one he fell down from bed when he was 13 or 14 and injured his head but there was no external injuries. After that they consulted a doctor and prescribed dicorate er 750 and some other medicines. Now he is 28 yrs old and he is continuing dicorate er 750 only. Nowadays he is showing some extra interest to sex chat and he is always want to keep company with females. He is liking to make a calls to the unknown females and share their feelings. Sometimes he is engaging with sex chat. I think he has some mental problem. Whats his real problem?? Is anything related with his medicines??

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
After going through history it appears after head injury there may be convulsions or some Psychiatric abnormality like major depression and mania that may be the reason.
He must be under continuous follow up of the treating doctor if he is taking it without consultation, then please visit the Psychiatrist and Neuro physician to assess if it is required or can be withdrawn and if needs to be continued at what dose.
His personality should be analysed and treated accordingly.He should certainly consult a Psychiatrist.
This drug can have side effects but he is taking for so many years.
Abnormal dreams, abnormal gait, agitation, in-coordination, muscle rigidity, memory loss, sleeplessness, tingling, involuntary movements, abnormal thinking and fainting weight gain and low or high blood pressure.
Please take good care of him
